Monster Energy AMA Supercross: Daytona Preview and Insights
As the Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship heads into its eighth round at Daytona International Speedway, all eyes are on Eli Tomac as he defends his stronghold at this iconic venue. Tomac boasts an impressive record at Daytona, with seven victories out of 11 main event starts, and his worst finish—a fourth place—occurred during his inaugural 450SX appearance at the track. Since then, he has dominated the venue, winning seven of the last eight events held from 2016 to 2023.
With Jett Lawrence, the 2024 Daytona winner, sidelined due to an ankle injury, the competition is further narrowed. Ken Roczen, the 2025 winner, is the only other active rider with a 450SX victory at Daytona.
Cooper Webb remains a formidable contender at this event. He has consistently placed well, with five second-place finishes across his eight starts at Daytona, securing a spot on the podium in seven instances.
As the riders prepare for Saturday’s race, Tomac’s track record and Webb’s consistent results suggest an intense battle at “DayTomac.”
