2023 Supercross Round Six: Seattle Recap
In a fiercely competitive Seattle Supercross, Eli Tomac secured victory, showcasing consistent pace and strategic racing. Hunter Lawrence finished fourth after an incident with Ken Roczen, while Justin Cooper capitalized on the situation to claim the final podium position.
Lawrence leads the championship standings with 124 points, just one ahead of Tomac, who sits at 123. Roczen and Cooper Webb are tied for third, each with 113 points, trailing Lawrence by 11.
Post-race, Lawrence remarked, “It was a bittersweet main event… I spun off the gate… I made my attempted pass on Kenny [Roczen], and we got together. It was just a crappy racing incident… With a good start, I feel like it could’ve been a completely different night.”
Team Manager Lars Lindstrom praised the track preparation despite the weather challenges, stating, “The track crew did a great job… Even with the rain, they were able to have the track in incredible shape… That’s what separates the good riders from the great riders.”
As the season progresses, Lawrence’s continued performance will be pivotal in determining the championship landscape, while Tomac’s victory has renewed his momentum.
