RedBud National: Swoll and Mosiman Stand Out in Historic Podium Finishes
Benton Harbor, MI – The RedBud National saw significant milestones for both Jalek Swoll and Michael Mosiman, marking pivotal moments in their careers amid sharp competition in the 250 Class of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Jalek Swoll, riding for Triumph, secured his first podium finish of the season, placing third overall in just his third race back following a serious Achilles tendon injury. This comes after a promising 2024 season, where he finished eighth in the 250SX East and seventh in the 250 Class. Swoll’s previous podium was at Unadilla, and his performance at RedBud demonstrated his return to form with scores of 4-3.
“I didn’t expect to be up here so fast,” Swoll remarked in the post-race presser. He emphasized his newfound confidence, attributing it to training prior to his injury, but admitted the physical challenge of regaining fitness. “I was really digging deep just to finish. I can only get better from here, so it’s exciting.”
The event marked a dramatic return for Michael Mosiman, who clinched his first podium in nearly four years with a strong performance resulting in a 2-4 scoreline. Mosiman’s journey has been fraught with challenges after contemplating retirement due to injury two years prior.
“This feels incredible,” Mosiman shared, reflecting on the difficulty of his comeback. “I’ve fought through a lot to be here. The hard work is paying off.”
Both riders now look to capitalize on their momentum as they head into the remainder of the SMX season, aiming to build on their performances and solidify their standings in the championship.
In summary, the RedBud National was a testament to resilience and determination, showcasing both Swoll and Mosiman as forces to be reckoned with in the competitive landscape of motocross.
