Swoll Returns to Competitive Racing at AMA Pro Motocross Championship
In a noteworthy comeback, Jalek Swoll made his much-anticipated return to the racetrack during the fourth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at High Point, marking the first race of the season for the Florida native. After a lengthy recovery from an Achilles tendon injury that sidelined him through both the Monster Energy AMA Supercross and initial rounds of Pro Motocross, Swoll demonstrated resilience and competitive spirit.
Swoll’s day began with a solid effort, ultimately finishing 14th in the first moto. He markedly improved in the second, claiming an 8th place finish and securing 10th overall. This performance positioned him as the highest-finishing rider for Triumph, which is significant following their re-entry into AMA Motocross last season.
Swoll acknowledged his challenges post-race, stating, “My foot is still giving me some pain and my cardio isn’t where it should be, but overall, things went well.” He emphasized that while he faded in the first moto, he improved significantly, indicating positive signs for future races.
Despite physical discomfort and ongoing recovery, Swoll expressed optimism: “I’m already looking forward to getting some more races under my belt and seeing what we can do.” His commitment to improvement was evident through his performance, particularly in the second moto when he successfully maintained a competitive pace.
Following his participation at High Point, Swoll will have a weekend off before the next race at the Southwick National in Massachusetts on June 28.
In related results from the Triumph team, Mikkel Haarup finished 12th, Jordon Smith 14th, and Austin Forkner 22nd overall, highlighting the team’s ongoing development in the competitive landscape of motocross.
This race not only marked Swoll’s return but also set the stage for future races as he continues to regain his fitness and competitive edge.
