Tragic Setback for Jed Beaton in MX1 Championship
In a devastating turn of events for the Monster Energy CDR Yamaha Team, MX1 ProMX Championship leader Jed Beaton suffered a serious leg injury during training. The incident occurred while Beaton was fine-tuning his preparations for round seven; misjudging a jump, he landed awkwardly, resulting in a broken right femur. He has been transported to a hospital for assessment, and further details on rehabilitation will be provided following X-rays and scans.
Team Manager, Craig Dack, expressed his team’s disappointment, stating, “To receive that phone call this morning really took the wind out of our sails… Jed and the team had worked so hard over the past 18 months, and to see this happen is hard to explain. We are all a bit speechless.” He assured fans and supporters that they are assembling a dedicated medical team to ensure Beaton’s full recovery.
Motorsport Manager for Yamaha Motor Australia, Scott Bishop, remarked on Beaton’s dedication, stating, “The effort and energy that goes into winning a championship is huge… We know Jed will be back and do all in his power to return as a better rider.”
This news comes amid Aaron Tanti’s anticipated return to racing after a seven-month recovery from a neck injury. After a month back on the bike, Tanti plans to compete in rounds seven and eight in Queensland but is approaching with cautious optimism: “I have been riding and feel better on the bike every time… I will be behind the gate at Toowoomba, looking to get back into the swing of racing,” he noted.
With Beaton sidelined, the championship dynamics are set for significant changes as the season progresses.
