Herlings Returns for MXGP in Lommel Following Recovery

Jeffrey Herlings is set to return to the MXGP series this weekend at the challenging Lommel circuit, having successfully recovered from a broken right collarbone. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider completed a positive training session in the Netherlands on Thursday, affirming his readiness for competition.

The 30-year-old Dutchman, a proven talent on sand surfaces, secured a victory at Lommel last year and has claimed wins in both Germany and Latvia during the current season, despite missing rounds in Finland and Czechia due to his injury. His return marks a pivotal moment as he looks to regain momentum in the championship.

Team Manager Joel Smets commented on Herlings’ return: “Jeffrey went riding today and felt good and strong enough to enter the GP this weekend in Lommel. We’re happy to have him back but must be realistic about what to expect. Jeffrey is the sandmaster but has still missed two races and will have to build-up his feeling again.”

With Herlings back in the mix, the Red Bull KTM team hopes to maintain its competitive edge across both the MXGP and MX2 classes. The team’s recent performance has been strong, and Herlings’ presence is expected to further enhance their championship aspirations.
