Race Preview: 2024 Supercross Season

As the 2024 Supercross season approaches, all eyes are on the Lawrence brothers, Jett and Hunter, along with seasoned contenders Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb. In contrast to some rivals, the Lawrences have made no significant changes to their teams or bikes for the upcoming season, fostering a sense of stability. Jett Lawrence highlighted the contrasting preparations, noting, “Last year we had 17 test days before A1; this time, we only had a couple. It’s a lot calmer, and we’re just looking forward to getting underway.”

Jett’s primary objective is completing the full season without the injuries that have previously hindered his efforts in the 450 class. Following a successful summer where he clinched the Pro Motocross and 450SMX titles, the question remains: can he reclaim the #1 450SX plate? Reflecting on the competitive nature of Supercross, Jett remarked, “Wins mean a lot more; they are harder to achieve. There’s a significant level of competition in the 450 class.”

Meanwhile, Hunter Lawrence asserts that he is more prepared and experienced this year. “I feel like we’ve improved the bike quite a bit, and I’m in a better position than last year,” he said, indicating his readiness to capitalize on the gains made during the outdoor season.

The 2024 season promises to be intense, with both Lawrences poised to challenge for top honors against formidable rivals, including Tomac and Webb. As the starting gate approaches, the anticipation for this year’s race dynamics amplifies, setting the stage for memorable battles on the track.
