MXGP of Latvia Secures Three-Year Extension
Kegums, Finland — Infront Moto Racing has renewed its partnership with the Kegums circuit, extending the MXGP of Latvia’s status on the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar through 2029. The announcement, made during the 2025 MXGP of Finland, underscores a commitment to deliver premier motocross events to fans in Latvia.
David Luongo, CEO of Infront Moto Racing, along with FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela and MXGP of Latvia Organizer Kristers Sergis, finalized the agreement, emphasizing the strength of their collaboration that has included the circuit on the MXGP schedule since 2009. Kegums first hosted its inaugural FIM Motocross Grand Prix in 2005, establishing itself as a key venue in the motocross domain.
Latvia has developed a robust motocross community, nurturing talents like Pauls Jonass and Junior 65cc World Cup winner Patricks Cirulis, alongside a new generation of riders emerging in European Championships.
Luongo stated, “Kegums has always been a modern track with excellent infrastructure. Our ongoing collaboration allows us to enhance the layout and ensure its historical significance while adapting to new challenges.”
Alia Portela added, “This extension provides essential stability for the MXGP series. Kristers’ support, especially post-COVID, has been vital in enhancing the event’s safety and spectacle.”
Sergis highlighted the importance of the MXGP series for Latvia, noting, “We have competitive riders now and anticipate more in the future. The support from our government and team is crucial for further improvements.”
As the MXGP of Latvia continues to evolve, the renewed contract positions it as a crucial fixture in the championship, promising exciting developments for seasons to come.
