Anaheim 2 Supercross Update: Team Manager Insights and Rider Recoveries

In a media session ahead of the Anaheim 2 Supercross, key insights emerged from top team managers in the Monster Energy SMX World Championship paddock. Notably, Lars Lindstrom, team manager for Honda HRC Progressive, provided an optimistic update on the recovery of injured riders Jett Lawrence and Jo Shimoda.

Lindstrom reported that both athletes are on track for a return to competition. “I’m pretty confident we’ll see both of them back in supercross at some point,” he stated. He elaborated on Lawrence’s recovery from a foot injury, highlighting the significance of healing the talus bone, which serves as a crucial support structure in the foot. “He’s been utilizing hyperbaric chamber therapy and various recovery tools with his medical team, significantly speeding up the process. He’s fully engaged in daily recovery efforts,” Lindstrom noted.

Regarding Shimoda, who is recovering from a back injury, Lindstrom emphasized the success of his recent surgery and expressed confidence in his rehabilitation. “Jo’s surgery went really well. He feels great, but we’re awaiting further guidance from his doctors for a precise return timeline,” he added.

Currently, Honda fields riders Chance Hymas, who stands third in 250SX West, and Hunter Lawrence, positioned third in 450SX as qualifying concludes for the Anaheim 2 event.
