Race Report: Kitchen’s Resilience at Southwick

In a compelling display at Southwick’s legendary Wick 338 circuit, Washington native, Kitchen, secured a podium finish despite an early mishap during the second moto. Reflecting on his performance, Kitchen acknowledged, “I didn’t know where I was at… I actually thought I was gonna be off the podium for sure.” His concerns stemmed from what he described as a disappointing second moto. Yet, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reach the podium, noting it was a significant improvement over past results at this track, where he previously finished 10th.

Currently, Kitchen sits seventh in the championship standings with 124 points, trailing leader Haiden Deegan by 70 points as the season approaches its midway point. Traditionally strong at Southwick, Kitchen’s previous finishes include fourth, eighth, and seventh in his prior professional outings. Notably, his performance last year saw him closely trail eventual champion Jett Lawrence.

With a weekend off ahead, Kitchen is poised for a potential rebound as he looks toward the next race, aiming for his fourth consecutive podium finish.
