Deegan and Kitchen Face Tough Competition at AMA Pro Motocross

In the latest round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Haiden Deegan secured a 14th-place finish in the moto, culminating in a sixth overall with a 1-14 performance. Teammate Chris Kitchen ended the day with a 5-12 result, placing him tenth overall. Notably, Jo Shimoda dominated the event with a pair of second-place finishes, claiming the overall victory and extending his lead in the championship standings.

As it stands, Deegan trails Shimoda by 10 points heading into the season’s finale, which will award triple points. Kitchen sits in sixth, 39 points off the championship pace.

Both riders have a history as teammates at Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing. Deegan was instrumental in Kitchen’s early career in 2023, but Kitchen switched to Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki for the upcoming 2024 season. Kitchen’s performance this season has been hindered by injuries sustained during the Daytona Supercross, where he suffered a broken collarbone and back issues, impacting his readiness as the season progressed.

With only one race remaining, the battle for the championship intensifies, emphasizing the importance of every point on the board.
