Liqui Moly Beta Factory Racing Withdraws from 2026 AMA Supercross Championship

Liqui Moly Beta Factory Racing has announced its withdrawal from the remainder of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. This decision follows a series of injuries that have sidelined premier-class riders Benny Bloss and Mitchell Oldenburg early in the season.

Both riders faced significant setbacks, beginning with Bloss’s broken wrist incurred during press day at the season opener in Anaheim. Oldenburg sustained a concussion along with radius and ulna fractures in his left arm following a crash during the San Diego qualifying round. Both athletes have undergone successful surgeries and are currently in recovery.

Rather than expedite their healing process for a potential return to Supercross, the team will instead shift its full focus to the upcoming 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship and the three SMX Rounds. This marks a historic commitment for Beta, as the team will contest the entire 11-round Pro Motocross series for the first time.

Team Director Carlen Gardner expressed the team’s disappointment but emphasized a proactive approach: “This is certainly not how we envisioned our 2026 Supercross season unfolding. However, we are turning this setback into an opportunity. By committing to the full Pro Motocross season, we are giving our riders the time they need to get back to 100% and giving our fans the chance to see Beta compete at every outdoor national.”

The 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship is scheduled to commence on May 30th at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. The team is now also seeking a fill-in rider to support ongoing efforts in Supercross.

This strategic shift highlights Beta’s commitment to rider health and long-term team goals as it transitions focus from Supercross to outdoor competition.
