450SX Championship Round 11: Detroit Race Report
Detroit, MI – The 11th round of the 450SX Championship kicks off at Ford Field, where temperatures are set to reach a brisk 44°F. This marks the second-to-last indoor venue for the 17-round championship, promising intense competition among the riders.
In the 250SX Championship, a significant blow has been dealt as Pierce Brown is sidelined with a collarbone and wrist injury following his crash during the Birmingham SX East/West Showdown. Cole Davies now leads the championship standings, closely pursued by Seth Hammaker and Jo Shimoda. Daxton Bennick, in fifth place, remains in contention despite Brown’s absence.
Three significant injuries have impacted the 250SX field. Jalek Swoll is out indefinitely due to a torn Achilles tendon—his third such injury in less than a year. Cullin Park is also unavailable due to a shoulder injury. On a more positive note, Gavin Towers returns to the lineup after an injury in Indianapolis, while Casey Cochran makes his season debut following a pre-season collarbone injury.
Stay tuned for further updates as the season progresses and we assess the implications of these injuries on the championship standings.
