AMA Pro Motocross Championship Resumes at Ironman Raceway
Ironman Raceway, Indiana — The AMA Pro Motocross Championship is back in action today after a two-week hiatus, with only three rounds remaining in the season. Riders face challenging conditions, with temperatures expected to reach 90°F and humidity at 71%.
In the 250 Class, Haiden Deegan leads the championship standings, although he and his fellow competitors will be looking to rebound after Jo Shimoda’s victory at the Washougal National. Jett Lawrence remains the leader in the 450 Class but faces pressure from Chase Sexton, who also came out on top in the previous round.
Noteworthy returns include Julien Beaumer, Tom Vialle, and Michael Mosiman, who are rejoining the competition after injuries. A comprehensive injury report has been released for this event.
In a highlight for the weekend, Team USA’s roster for the upcoming Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, set for October at Ironman Raceway, will be announced during this morning’s opening ceremonies.
Additionally, fans can look forward to the second Women’s Motocross (WMX) Championship moto today, broadcast live on Peacock. This follows an earlier moto that showcased the talent within this field.
Honda’s success continues, with all four riders from their 2024 championship lineup—Kyle Webster (MX1), Brodie Connolly (MX2), Kayd Kingsford (MX3), and Charli Cannon (MXW)—participating this weekend. Both Kingsford and Cannon will compete for positions today, with Connolly racing as #788 in the 250 Class and Webster returning with number #69.
Track modifications include changes to the Godzilla jump and the section before the finish line, resulting in a prepared surface that promises a deep, moist layout for today’s races.
A riders’ meeting is scheduled for 7:15 a.m. local time, followed by on-track activities. Fans and competitors alike are poised for an exciting return to motocross action.
