Missouri SMX Playoffs: Double Points at Stake Ahead of Race Day

The SMX Playoffs continue this weekend at Missouri’s zMAX Dragway, following a truncated race day last week due to adverse weather conditions. Today’s race carries significant implications, as it offers double points—50 for the winner, 44 for second, and 40 for third.

In the 250SMX Class, Haiden Deegan holds an eight-point lead over Jo Shimoda, while Jett Lawrence maintains a nine-point edge over Chase Sexton in the 450SMX standings. With both defending champions in the hunt, today’s competition is crucial for any contenders aspiring to unseat them.

Garrett Marchbanks (250SMX) and Malcolm Stewart (450SMX) are set to return this weekend after sustaining injuries in North Carolina. In contrast, Julien Beaumer will miss the event following a qualifying crash that resulted in a burst fracture of his L3 vertebra; he has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Prior to the races, a track walk will occur at 11:30 a.m. local time, with bikes scheduled on track at 12:20 p.m. Fans can catch the action on Peacock or via the SMX Video Pass for international viewers.
