Loretta Lynn’s Lap-a-Thon: A Milestone Event for St. Jude’s Research Hospital
Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, Tennessee – The annual Lap-a-Thon, now in its 9th year, kicked off today, with over 108 distinct motos set to cover more than 36,000 laps. This initiative aims to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, enhancing its valuable efforts in the battle against childhood cancer.
Tim Cotter, Director of Operations for MX Sports, emphasizes the strong community ties formed through this collaboration. “Seeing the work firsthand at St. Jude, interacting with patients and their families, is profoundly impactful,” he stated. Cotter highlighted the duality of the event’s objective: “One community can help another in need. It’s kids helping kids.”
Participants in the Lap-a-Thon can register to fundraise, with opportunities for donors to sponsor individual laps. Each racer will be equipped with St. Jude stickers on their number plates, symbolizing their commitment to the mission: "Finding Cures. Saving Children."
The SMX League™ has successfully raised over $2.5 million for St. Jude since its inception through multiple initiatives, including specialized race events, merchandise sales, and online auctions.
For additional information and registration, athletes can visit the event’s dedicated page.
This initiative exemplifies the power of motorsports in mobilizing community support for critical health causes.
