2024 Nicky Hayden AMA Motocross Horizon Award Presented at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch
Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, Tennessee – The prestigious Nicky Hayden AMA Motocross Horizon Award was presented during the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, concluding a week of intense competition. This award, established in 1997 and renamed in honor of Nicky Hayden after his untimely passing in 2017, recognizes the most promising athlete transitioning to professional motocross.
Drew Adams of Team Green Kawasaki emerged as the 2024 recipient, achieving standout performances with a 4-1-1 moto score to claim the 250 Pro Sport title, while also securing victories in all three motos of the Open Pro Sport category. His impressive tally of three moto wins marks him as the first Kawasaki rider to receive the Horizon Award since Jason Anderson in 2010.
The Nicky Hayden Horizon Award has historically honored a diverse range of talent within the sport, with Nick Wey being the inaugural recipient in 1997. Notably, 2008 saw a unique circumstance where both Darryn Durham and P.J. Larsen were co-awardees.
With Adams’ achievement, the legacy of the Horizon Award continues to highlight emerging stars in American motocross, underscoring the ongoing influence of Nicky Hayden in the sport.
