Garrett Marchbanks Joins Kawasaki for 2026 Season
Monster Energy Kawasaki has officially confirmed Garrett Marchbanks as the second rider for the 2026 season, joining Chase Sexton. Despite initial speculation favoring teammate Cameron McAdoo, who had been testing a 450, Kawasaki opted for Marchbanks based on his previous experience in both Monster Energy AMA Supercross and the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Marchbanks has a solo main event appearance in Supercross and has previously competed on a 450 with the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX team. While it was rumored that he initially declined the move to 450, reports indicate that Marchbanks received an incentive, potentially including a multi-year contract or financial support, prompting his agreement to join the Kawasaki ranks.
This decision follows the departure of Jorge Prado, which left Kawasaki needing a strong contender for the 450 lineup. Marchbanks, noted for his size and cycling experience, appears to be a strategic choice for the team moving forward.
The upcoming Racerhead feature will provide additional insights and developments regarding this announcement.
