Mips Welcomes Jorge Prado to Team Mips as He Prepares for U.S. Racing Debut
STOCKHOLM (May 20, 2025) – Mips, a leader in helmet-based safety technology, announces the addition of four-time world champion Jorge Prado to Team Mips. This partnership aligns with Prado’s transition to the Monster Energy Kawasaki team as he prepares for his U.S. racing debut in the Pro Motocross series starting May 24, 2025.
Prado, an accomplished competitor in the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) with four world titles and a record of 149 holeshots, emphasized the importance of helmet safety in his new role: “In motocross, every detail counts — and helmet safety is a huge part of that. I’m proud to work with a brand that’s constantly innovating to protect riders like me.”
Max Strandwitz, CEO of Mips, expressed enthusiasm about Prado’s addition, highlighting shared values: “We’re happy to have Jorge Prado join Team Mips. His career and qualities as a rider speak for themselves, and we’re looking forward to being part of his U.S. adventure. He represents qualities that are fully aligned with us here at Mips and our mission to lead the world towards safer helmets.”
After recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, Prado aims to be a strong contender in the 450 Class. As part of Team Mips, he will race with the Fox V3 RS helmet featuring the advanced Mips® Integra Split system, designed to reduce rotational motion during angled impacts.
Mips continues to expand its influence in motocross, reinforcing its commitment to rider safety and raising awareness for appropriate helmet use across sports.
