Motocross of Nations Parade Takes Over Crawfordsville

Crawfordsville, Indiana — The 78th edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations commenced with an electrifying parade that filled the streets of Crawfordsville, now dubbed “Motoville” for the weekend. A total of 37 national teams showcased their presence, marking a vibrant celebration of motocross culture that captivated the local community.

Team Spain, featuring new leader Ruben Fernandez, exhibited confidence in their lineup. Meanwhile, Team Belgium manager Joel Roelants expressed satisfaction in having selected a complete team free from injury concerns, with Lucas Coenen eager to establish his reputation on the international stage.

The parade, instrumental in energizing the local fandom, closed off the city’s main thoroughfare for a spectacular display of motocross spirit. Over 16,000 residents witnessed the procession, which included a stunt show and highlights from MXGP-TV’s commentators, Paul Malin and Jason Thomas.

The celebration began with Team Honduras leading the charge, followed closely by motocross icons Ricky Carmichael and Jeff Stanton, reinforcing the historical significance of the event. Other nations, including Team FIM Asia, Costa Rica, and Mexico, also participated enthusiastically, contributing to the palpable excitement.

Dignitaries, including FIM President Jorge Viegas, and local marching bands added to the festive atmosphere. Notably, Yamaha’s BLUCRU riders participated on their race bikes, creating an exhilarating backdrop for the assembled fans.

This parade not only heralded the start of the motocross competition but underscored the sport’s deep-rooted connection to the community, signaling a weekend poised for thrilling racing action.
