Nick Romano Returns to Factory Team After Prolonged Absence

In a significant development within the motorsports community, Nick Romano has secured a seat with the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team following Drew Adams’ injury at the Daytona Supercross. Romano, who had been training diligently without a ride since January, seized the opportunity just a week after Adams sustained a thumb injury.

Despite receiving offers from satellite teams, Romano held out for a factory-level position, demonstrating a clear commitment to his career trajectory. “I knew my capabilities and didn’t want to be on a privateer team again,” he remarked, reflecting on the uncertainty that accompanied his prolonged absence from competitive racing.

After months of training largely on his own, Romano’s perseverance paid off. Following his conversations with Team Manager Mitch Payton, he was given the green light to join the team. “I got the call Thursday, the week after Daytona… dream come true, honestly,” said Romano, emphasizing his enthusiasm to compete again.

Romano’s first day back on the bike coincided with his 21st birthday, which he described as a pivotal moment. “Everything just went so well… I felt like I had been on the bike for a couple of years.” His confidence is bolstered by the intensive training and testing regimen he has undertaken in Southern California, where he has been fine-tuning his skills in preparation for upcoming competitions.

As Romano prepares to return to racing, his focus remains sharp. “The goal doesn’t change… I’m here to win.” With a solid foundation laid in the past week, Romano is eager to showcase his capabilities on the racetrack once more. His return marks a potential turning point in his career, as he aims to capitalize on this second chance at a high-level competitive environment.
