Brown’s Championship Dreams Dashed by Injury at 250SX East/West Showdown
The 250SX East/West Showdown on Saturday night became a turning point for championship hopeful, Brown, whose promising season took a severe hit due to injuries sustained in the main event.
Brown entered the night facing adversity after being involved in a crash during the final lap of the 250SX East heat race, forcing him to navigate through the last-chance qualifier (LCQ). Although he managed to qualify, his luck would not hold in the main event, where he crashed near the finish line several laps in, prompting immediate attention from the Alpinestars medical staff.
Despite walking off the track unaided, further assessments revealed grave injuries: a broken collarbone and a dislocated wrist. Brown later confirmed the injuries via social media, stating, “Disappointed to make this post… I ended up catching a rock on the face of a jump and crashing while making a pass resulting in a broken collarbone and dislocated wrist.” He expressed uncertainty regarding his recovery timeline but committed to returning as soon as possible.
This incident is particularly significant as Brown was one of four riders in the 250SX East Division, tightly contesting the championship, separated by only two points. Consequently, his injuries could jeopardize his title hopes for the remainder of the season.
In light of this setback, Brown conveyed his gratitude to his team and supporters, ensuring them that their hard work will not go unnoticed as he focuses on recovery.
