Tragic Loss in Motocross Community
Waverly, Ohio – The motocross community mourns the loss of two local riders, Nick Fisher, 28, and his brother-in-law, Kyle Slone, 23, who died in a car accident last Thursday in West Virginia while en route to the Daytona Supercross. Fisher was the owner and CEO of DirtWRX Unlimited and a project manager at Waste Management, leaving behind his wife, Michelle, and two daughters, ages 7 and 5. A son is expected to arrive in August. Slone worked as a warehouse supervisor at Pegasus Industries and is survived by his partner, Clover Hope Smith, and their daughter, Emmy.
Funeral services for Slone were held Wednesday, while Fisher’s funeral is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, with burial to follow in Evergreen Union. The family requests casual attire to honor the motocross community and has established a memorial account for Fisher’s children. A fundraising raffle for racing gear will be conducted this weekend at Henderson Arena Race in Jackson, Ohio, with proceeds benefiting both families.
