Beta Unveils Rick Elzinga as First Signing for 2026 MXGP Season

Beta has officially announced that Dutch rider Rick Elzinga will join the team for the 2026 MXGP Motocross World Championship, riding the Beta RX450 for Team Beta MRT Racing. Elzinga, hailing from Zenderen, brings a wealth of experience to the team, including his title as EMX 250 European Champion in 2022.

In the 2024 MX2 World Championship, Elzinga demonstrated his abilities by finishing seventh overall, achieving his first podium with a third-place finish in Portugal, followed by a strong second at the renowned Lommel track. The subsequent season showcased his resilience; despite a collarbone injury that sidelined him for four GPs, he secured consistent top ten finishes, concluding the season in thirteenth place.

Reflecting on his new opportunity, Elzinga stated, “I would like to thank Betamotor and Elio Marchetti for this opportunity! I had the chance to try out the bike and I immediately liked it a lot. The team is very helpful, and my goal now is to prepare as best as possible for the season ahead.”

As preparations for the upcoming season intensify, anticipation mounts for the 2026 MXGP Championship. The team is expected to announce Elzinga’s fellow rider in the coming weeks, further solidifying their competitive lineup.
