Roczen Overcomes Setback at Indianapolis SX Triple Crown
The second race of the Indianapolis Supercross Triple Crown faced gripping drama as Ken Roczen and Aaron Plessinger collided on the opening lap, drastically altering their performances. The incident ended Plessinger’s night prematurely, forcing Roczen to remount in last place. Despite this setback, Roczen displayed resilience, securing overall finishes of 1-10-3 for fifth place.
In reflecting on the crash, Roczen stated, “Not the ideal situation; you definitely see everything kind of flushing down the drain.” His frustration was evident, as he could have realistically achieved a sweep with his earlier pace.
Plessinger, who fortunately escaped serious injury, expressed relief, saying, “As bad as it was, I think I got pretty lucky to get away from that one with nothing broken.”
Roczen elaborated on his performance, detailing the challenges of the track: “Indianapolis, man, you were gnarly again… The Triple Crown here is really intense.” He praised his first race, describing it as a “dream ride” but lamented his second race error that led to the crash. Despite the chaos, he managed to finish strong in the final race.
The result puts Roczen in a position to regroup during the off-weekend, with hopes of returning to form in subsequent rounds of the championship.
