Simon Laengenfelder Extends Contract with Red Bull KTM, Aims for MX2 Dominance
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team has secured reigning MX2 FIM Motocross World Champion Simon Laengenfelder for the 2027 season. The deal reinforces KTM’s commitment to Laengenfelder, following his successful 2025 title run at the final event in Australia.
At just 21, Laengenfelder has established himself as a formidable competitor, having progressed through KTM’s ranks since his debut full-time in 2021. His career highlights include a pivotal win at the opening round in Great Britain in 2022 and consistent top-three finishes, culminating in his championship victory last season.
As he prepares for the upcoming season with the works KTM 250 SX-F, Laengenfelder is determined to become the first consecutive MX2 champion for Red Bull KTM since 2019. His teammate, Sacha Coenen, is also expected to be a strong contender in the 2027 season.
Laengenfelder’s continuous development and deepening synergy with KTM’s Motorsport department position him as a key asset for the team’s future ambitions in the MXGP landscape.
