Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing Update: Dudney Out, Gordon In for Nashville SX
Marietta, GA – The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team has announced that Caden Dudney will withdraw from the remainder of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season to concentrate on preparing for his debut full campaign in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship this summer. Dudney, who has struggled for top finishes in the 250SX main events, recorded results of 13th, 11th, 17th, 18th, and 16th in six starts this season, showcasing significant speed in qualifying but faltering during finals.
In a strategic move, 19-year-old Landen Gordon will make his professional debut this weekend at the Nashville SX. Gordon has displayed considerable potential, posting finishes of 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, and 22nd in four SMX Next events, with a strong podium streak interrupted by a first-turn incident at Birmingham.
Team spokesperson commented on the decision: “From the start, the plan for Caden was to gain valuable experience this season. Now, we’re shifting our focus to his rookie outdoor campaign. He showed promise last year, and it’s time to set the focus on that.”
Gordon expressed excitement for his Nashville debut, stating, “I’m ready to have some fun and mix it up with the East Coast boys!”
Dudney, reflecting on his experience, said, “I gained valuable experience for my future in Supercross, but now my focus is on the motocross opener. We’re looking forward to getting the outdoor season started!”
This strategic reshuffling underlines the team’s commitment to maximizing rider development and performance ahead of the upcoming outdoor season.
