WMX Returns to Hangtown: Turner Takes Command
The WMX series continued its season at the iconic Hangtown motocross track, building on an exciting opening round at Fox Raceway. LaLa Turner delivered a commanding performance in the first moto, showcasing her exceptional speed and strategy.
Turner launched off the start line, initially trailing Kyleigh Stallings, who led early. However, Charli Cannon quickly displaced Stallings, seizing the lead with aggressive maneuvers. Despite her recent surgery on a broken finger, Cannon exhibited remarkable resilience but was ultimately unable to maintain her position. Turner capitalized effectively, overtaking both Stallings and Cannon, securing the moto victory.
Mikayla Nielsen, last week’s winner, faced challenges with a less-than-ideal start and could only manage a third-place finish after moving up from lower positions. Despite her efforts, she could not close the gap on the front-runners Turner and Cannon.
The race not only highlighted the fierce competition among the riders but also underscored Turner’s ascendancy in the series, setting the stage for an intriguing season ahead.
