Vialle Claims Victory in Thrilling 250SX Showdown
In a gripping race at the Eastern Divisional 250SX Class Championship, Tom Vialle secured a hard-fought victory, showcasing remarkable resilience and skill. Vialle battled closely with Nate Thrasher of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, who dominated much of the race but ultimately finished second. Maximus Vohland from Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha claimed a significant milestone, achieving his first career podium finish in third place.
Vialle’s triumph came after an impressive recovery from a serious practice crash, which left him shaken but determined. “Coming into this round I pretty much had to win… I had some good lines for the main event and could make the pass at the end," he stated, emphasizing his focus on the upcoming showdown in Salt Lake City.
Thrasher expressed frustration over his missed opportunity for the win, noting a crucial mistake cost him the lead. “I could taste it… my confidence just wasn’t the same in the whoops," he reflected, while expressing optimism for the championship finale, where he aims to reclaim his winning form.
Vohland, adapting to a hand brake due to a foot injury, celebrated his podium achievement, stating, “This is the first career podium for me… I feel a huge weight off my shoulders and I’m hungry for more.”
The race saw RJ Hampshire momentarily claim third before crashing while navigating a lapped rider, but he managed to remount and finish fourth, just ahead of Seth Hammaker, who salvaged fifth after a rocky start. With only three points separating the top three riders, the championship remains highly competitive heading into the East/West Showdown.
