Jett Lawrence Secures Second 450 Class Championship with Unstoppable Performance at Unadilla
NEW BERLIN, N.Y. – The penultimate round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, held at the historic Unadilla MX, witnessed Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence decisively clinch his second 450 Class title. Lawrence’s impressive back-to-back moto victories reinforced his dominance, as he collected the Edison Dye Cup after finishing 1-1 on the day.
Under sunny skies and mid-80s temperatures, Lawrence showcased his exceptional skill, overcoming early competition. In the first moto, reigning MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado initially led before being overtaken by RJ Hampshire and eventually both Lawrence brothers. After a brief slip that allowed Hampshire to reclaim the lead, Jett Lawrence regained control, pulling ahead to win by 7.7 seconds over Hunter Lawrence, with Eli Tomac finishing third.
The second moto began with Hunter Lawrence edging past Justin Cooper for the Holeshot, but Jett quickly advanced from fourth to first on the opening lap. Despite Hunter’s persistent attempts to close the gap, Jett maintained his lead, finishing 9.3 seconds ahead, while Tomac secured third.
In the 250 Class, Jo Shimoda delivered a stellar 1-1 performance, keeping his championship hopes alive and preventing Haiden Deegan from claiming the title that afternoon. This outcome marked a comprehensive victory for Honda HRC Progressive with simultaneous moto sweeps across both classes.
As the championship approaches its final round, the dynamics in both classes exhibit fierce competition, underscored by Lawrence’s commanding presence and Shimoda’s determined comeback.
