Kay de Wolf Set for MXGP Debut with Husqvarna in 2026
Kay de Wolf, the 2024 MX2 FIM Motocross World Champion and two-time winner at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), is officially shifting to the MXGP Class with the Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing team for the 2026 season. This announcement puts to rest rumors of a potential U.S. venture, confirming his commitment to European competition.
After securing second place in the 2025 MX2 standings behind KTM’s Lucas Längenfelder, de Wolf delivered standout performances at the MXoN, where he clinched MX2 overall honors with an 8-8 finish. His successful trajectory includes an impressive 2024 season where he achieved seven Grand Prix victories and 12 podiums, culminating in the MX2 World Championship title at just 20 years old.
De Wolf has been with Husqvarna since 2019, progressing through the ranks from EMX125 to the MX2 elite, where his technical prowess and aggressive racing style have earned him recognition as one of motocross’s most promising talents. His accolades also include multiple wins at the Dutch Masters of Motocross and significant contributions to Team Netherlands at the MXoN, helping the team secure a third-place finish in 2024.
