SMX Next – Supercross Qualifying: Final Race Preview Ahead of Birmingham Showdown
This weekend marks the final qualifying race for the SMX Next – Supercross series, taking place at the Birmingham Supercross, part of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. Currently, three riders have secured victories in the qualifying races: Kayden Minear at Anaheim 2, Caden Dudney in Houston, and Deacon Denno at Daytona.
Noteworthy performances include Landen Gordon, who has maintained a consistent presence on the podium across all three races, and Vincent Wey, who also reached the podium in Daytona. Dudney, now competing in the 250SX East Division, will participate in the 250SX East/West Showdown this weekend while Minear, Denno, Gordon, and Wey remain in contention for the final qualifying spot.
Ryder Malinoski returns to action following a severe collision at Anaheim 2, while Landon Gibson also re-enters the field after a hiatus.
The stakes are high as only the top five finishers from each qualifying main event will secure a place in the Philadelphia Supercross SMX Next – Supercross AMA National Championship. Riders like Gordon, who have claimed multiple top-five finishes, will create additional openings for those behind them.
Stay tuned for further coverage, including a roundtable recap of the Daytona SX and a preview for the Birmingham event, coming tomorrow.
