2025 WMX Championship Preview

The 2025 Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) is poised for an exciting season, commencing at Fox Raceway in Pala, California, on May 23. Defending champion Lachlan Turner will return to the series, aiming to secure her title against a formidable field that includes Australian Champion Charli Cannon making her U.S. debut, alongside Jannina Lehmann from Germany and Mathilde Martinez from France. Two-time champion Jordan Jarvis is also set to return, while familiar names such as Kyleigh Stallings, Mikayla Nielsen, and Jamie Astudillo will contend for the top positions.

After the season opener at Fox Raceway, the championship moves to the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova, California, on May 30, followed by the Thunder Valley National in Lakewood, Colorado, on June 6. The series will then pause for a "summer break" before resuming with critical rounds in August, starting with the Ironman National in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on August 8. The penultimate round will take place at the Unadilla National in New Berlin, New York, on August 15, before culminating at the Budds Creek National in Mechanicsville, Maryland, on August 22.

Series organizer Denney emphasized the collaborative effort in preparing for the season: “My goal from the beginning was to give them a proper race setting that reflects their skill and dedication. This has been a true team effort, and none of it would be possible without the passion and commitment of everyone involved.”

To compete, riders must fulfill the WMX eligibility requirements and secure their licenses prior to event registration. Detailed criteria can be found in the WMX Supplemental Rules.
