Eli Tomac Officially Departs Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing
Eli Tomac’s tenure with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has concluded, as confirmed by an official announcement from the team on social media. The Colorado native joined Yamaha ahead of the 2022 season after a successful stint with Monster Energy Kawasaki and subsequently secured both the AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross Championships in 2022 aboard the YZ450F.
Over his four years with Yamaha, Tomac’s performance was marked by significant achievements, including a Supercross championship, a Motocross championship, and a Motocross of Nations title. However, this period was also marred by injuries during the latter years.
As Tomac transitions to a new chapter, reports indicate he has signed with Red Bull KTM, with an official announcement expected in the coming week. Yamaha’s farewell message encapsulated their gratitude, stating, “A Supercross championship, a Motocross championship, a Motocross of Nations title, dozens of race wins… Thanks for the memories, Eli, what a ride it’s been!!!”
This shift marks a pivotal moment in both Tomac’s career and in the competitive landscape of AMA motocross as teams prepare for the upcoming season.
