NASCAR Investigates AJ Allmendinger’s No. 16 Team for Pit Road Violations Ahead of Nashville Race

In a significant prelude to Sunday’s race at Nashville Superspeedway, NASCAR removed AJ Allmendinger’s No. 16 Chevrolet from pit road due to suspected unauthorized adjustments made after passing initial inspection. The team was subjected to a re-inspection before being allowed to return for practice and qualifying after rectifying the violations.

A NASCAR spokesperson indicated that there may be further implications regarding potential penalties for the team in the coming week. Allmendinger currently holds 18th place in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, with four top-10 finishes, and sits just 13 points away from a coveted playoff position.

The race is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, marking the 14th event of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season.
