Chase Elliott Ends Winless Streak at EchoPark Speedway
Atlanta, GA – Chase Elliott secured a critical victory at EchoPark Speedway, overcoming a 44-race winless streak with a dramatic last-lap pass to emerge victorious in the NASCAR Cup Series race on Saturday night. The triumph solidifies his spot in the 2025 playoffs and marks his first win of the season.
Elliott, driving the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, executed a decisive inside maneuver on the final lap, leaving Brad Keselowski in second and his teammate Alex Bowman in third. "What a crazy race," Elliott remarked. “This is unbelievable. I’ve never experienced anything like it.”
Tyler Reddick and Erik Jones rounded out the top five, while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Zane Smith claimed sixth and seventh, respectively. The final stage of the race saw Elliott and Bowman maintain control, navigating through multiple cautions and a series of wrecks, including a notable incident that involved Bubba Wallace hitting the inside wall.
The race commenced with non-stop action, including a 23-car pileup in Stage 2 that eliminated several key competitors, such as Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin. The first two stages faced interruptions, including a brief delay due to rain and a caution due to a crash involving Ryan Blaney.
Notably, Reddick clinched the Stage 2 win in a photo finish against Elliott, highlighting the race’s intense competition.
With this victory, Elliott now boasts 20 career wins in the Cup Series, further reinforcing his status as one of NASCAR’s top drivers. The next race marks an opportunity for continued momentum as the season progresses.
