Matt Crafton to Conclude Full-Time Truck Series Career in 2025
Three-time Craftsman Truck Series champion Matt Crafton will retire from full-time competition at the end of the 2025 season, marking the end of an era for the veteran driver. Crafton has been with ThorSport Racing for the majority of his career, only departing once in 2004 for Kevin Harvick’s operation.
Ty Majeski, the reigning series champion, will step into the No. 88 seat for the 2024 season, transitioning from the No. 98 Ford entry with ThorSport Racing.
Crafton has been a prominent figure in the Truck Series since 2001 and achieved significant success between 2013 and 2019, securing championships in 2013, 2014, and 2019. He was the first driver to win consecutive titles in 2013 and 2014 and has tallied a total of 12 race victories during that period. Notably, Crafton clinched the 2019 championship without a single race win.
However, Crafton’s recent performance has seen a downturn, with no wins since 2020. His last appearance in the Championship 4 occurred in 2021. To date, he has achieved 15 victories over 585 starts.
ThorSport Racing continues to field a competitive lineup in the Craftsman Truck Series, comprising five trucks driven by Crafton, Majeski, Ben Rhodes, Jake Garcia, and a rotating lineup in the No. 66 truck.
