NASCAR Charter Dispute Escalates as 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports Race as ‘Open’ Entries

Dover, DE – This weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Dover Motor Speedway sees teams 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports (FRM) racing as ‘open’ entries, following a court’s decision to deny their request for a temporary restraining order against NASCAR. This ruling allows the series to reclaim their charters, impacting all six cars from these teams.

Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing, addressed the media Saturday, firmly stating there are no plans for a settlement in the ongoing lawsuit against NASCAR and the France family. "All I can tell you… if you want answers… come December 1st," Hamlin said, highlighting the trial’s start date as pivotal for clarifying the matter. He remained resolute despite inquiries into potential regrets regarding their decision not to sign the 2025 Charter Agreement, asserting, "Not a chance."

Concerns mount over Tyler Reddick’s contract amid the charter losses, notably a clause permitting recruitment by other teams. Reddick, who drove the No. 45 to the Championship 4 last season, stated, "I don’t have any direct comment to that," keeping his focus on racing amid the legal turmoil.

When pressed further on litigation and charter implications, Reddick maintained silence, emphasizing that he would not comment at this time.

As the situation develops, the implications for these teams could reshape the competitive landscape of the NASCAR Cup Series. Further updates are expected as the December trial approaches.
