NASCAR Cup Series Practice Report: Gilliland Leads Final Session at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez
Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez – In the final practice session for the NASCAR Cup Series, Todd Gilliland emerged as the fastest driver, clocking a speed of 93.181 mph (93.396 seconds). This session lasted 25 minutes and followed an earlier 50-minute practice period.
Driving for Front Row Motorsports, Gilliland completed only six laps but secured the top position, closely followed by Ross Chastain at 93.041 mph. Ty Gibbs recorded the third-fastest time at 92.865 mph, while Ryan Blaney and Chris Buescher rounded out the top five with 92.837 mph and 92.726 mph, respectively.
The remaining top ten included:
- 6th: Ryan Preece – 92.669 mph
- 7th: Austin Cindric – 92.651 mph
- 8th: Joey Logano – 92.641 mph
- 9th: Daniel Suarez – 92.633 mph
- 10th: Shane van Gisbergen – 92.601 mph
Point leader William Byron finished the session in 16th place, while Ryan Truex, substituting for Denny Hamlin at Joe Gibbs Racing, was 34th.
Aside from a minor incident where Ty Gibbs had a solo spin after hitting a curb, the session saw no significant mishaps. Notably, Noah Gragson did not participate in the final practice, as his team is working on a backup car following a wall collision in the first session.
