William Byron Secures Four-Year Extension with Hendrick Motorsports

William Byron has finalized a four-year contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports, ensuring his position as the driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet through the 2029 NASCAR Cup Series season. At 27, Byron has already made significant strides in his career, achieving 14 wins in 264 starts, including back-to-back victories in the Daytona 500 in 2024 and 2025.

In reflecting on his progression with the team, Byron stated, “We’ve built something special with the No. 24 team. I’m thankful for the opportunity to continue working with amazing people at Hendrick Motorsports who believe in me, especially Mr. and Mrs. Hendrick.”

Byron’s achievements include six consecutive postseason appearances and back-to-back trips to the Championship 4 in 2023 and 2024, culminating in a third-place finish last season. His Daytona 500 win solidifies his spot in the playoffs for the upcoming season.

Currently, Byron’s team ranks second in the Cup Series championship standings, trailing only his teammate Kyle Larson. He boasts the series’ second-best average finish and leads in laps led.

Rick Hendrick praised Byron, stating, “William is the real deal… He combines natural ability with an unrivaled work ethic… We’re proud to have him in our lineup and look forward to many more wins together.”
