NASCAR Broadcasters Enter New Era with TNT’s Summer Stint

As part of NASCAR’s groundbreaking $7.7 billion broadcast agreement, TNT steps in to cover the Cup Series for its upcoming five-race summer segment, succeeding Amazon’s Prime Video. This marks an important shift in the series’ broadcasting landscape, with TNT’s coverage beginning on June 28 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a Saturday night event.

Following Atlanta, the series will transition to road and street courses, featuring the Chicago Street Course on July 6 and Sonoma Raceway on July 13. The schedule continues with a race at Dover International Speedway, known as the "Monster Mile," on July 20, culminating in the prestigious Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. All five races will be aired on TNT and simulcast on HBO Max.

In addition to race broadcasts, TNT will simulcast all practice and qualifying sessions on Max and truTV, marking a departure from Prime Video, which previously handled these segments. Notably, Max will also provide in-car cameras for every Cup race during this stretch.

The broadcast booth remains unchanged from Prime Video, featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr., Adam Alexander, and Steve Letarte, ensuring continuity for viewers. Additionally, an alternative broadcast on truTV will center around the $1 million in-season bracket challenge, hosted by Daytona 500-winning crew chief Larry McReynolds and 21-time NASCAR Cup Series winner Jeff Burton.

After the TNT coverage, NBC Sports will resume hosting the remaining Cup races for the year.
