NASCAR Announces 2026 Season Finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway
NASCAR has officially confirmed that the 2026 season finale will return to the Homestead-Miami Speedway, introducing a rotating championship finale format. This decision follows the track’s hosting of a Cup race scheduled for 2025, granting ample time for preparations ahead of November 2026.
Track President Guillermo Santa Cruz emphasized that while the facility will receive cosmetic updates, the track surface itself will remain untouched. "The track is in excellent condition and yields some of the best racing anywhere," he stated, assuring fans and drivers alike of the course’s integrity.
Planned Enhancements
Santa Cruz outlined several improvements aimed at enhancing the fan experience, including:
- Facility Upgrades: A fresh coat of paint and general maintenance to combat the effects of the coastal environment.
- Hospitality Improvements: Enhancements to the Champions Club and overall guest experience, ensuring comfort for all attendees, from high-end hospitality to general grandstand seating.
- Environmental Considerations: Efforts to increase shade and improve access and egress for spectators.
Having assumed the role of track president in 2024, Santa Cruz noted that the enthusiasm drivers have for the Homestead circuit was a significant factor in his decision to lead. "One of the reasons I took the job was hearing how much the drivers love the track," he remarked.
The return to Homestead-Miami Speedway marks an important step in NASCAR’s evolving landscape, promising both continuity and innovation for avid followers of the sport.
