Denny Hamlin’s Family Home Lost to Fire; Two Hospitalized
A fire that broke out Sunday evening has resulted in the complete loss of a property owned by Denny Hamlin, driver and owner in the NASCAR Cup Series. The residence, located on Blacksnake Road in Stanley, North Carolina, is the home of Hamlin’s parents, Mary Lou and Dennis.
The Luca-Riverbend Fire Department led a response involving multiple agencies from Gaston and Lincoln Counties. Two individuals on the scene were hospitalized, though their identities and the cause of the fire have not been disclosed. Fire officials reported the incident at approximately 6 p.m. ET.
“We are thankful for the multiple agency response,” stated a post on the Luca-Riverbend Fire Department’s Facebook page. “We ask that the public be in prayer for the affected family and our first responders. This remains an active scene.”
Property records indicate that the home is owned by Won One Real Estate, a company registered to Hamlin. According to The Athletic, some cars and racing memorabilia were salvaged from the fire.
In his ongoing NASCAR career, Hamlin has secured six Cup Series victories this season while driving the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. He concluded the season with a second-place finish in the championship after a strong performance at Phoenix Raceway. Additionally, Hamlin and his co-owner Michael Jordan recently settled an antitrust lawsuit involving NASCAR.
