Katherine Legge’s Groundbreaking NASCAR Campaign
Katherine Legge, a veteran driver with a diverse motorsports background, is making significant strides in NASCAR, propelled by a transformative partnership with e.l.f. Cosmetics. The British racer, who has consistently sidestepped gender-focused narratives, is now embracing her femininity through a striking pink race car emblazoned with the brand’s logo.
Measured by results, Legge is already creating waves in her new circuit. In her debut NASCAR tenure, she has made history as the first woman to achieve a top-20 finish in a Cup Series race since Danica Patrick in 2017. Reflecting on e.l.f.’s impact, she stated, "It was the best thing that ever happened because it started this girl power movement."
At the recent Indy 500, e.l.f. hosted a grand fan engagement that resonated with female participants in the paddock. Legge remarked, "For the first time, the women felt like they were seen and validated… and still be a badass." Following a setback when her seat for the 2024 Indy 500 was lost, e.l.f. expanded support to her 2025 NASCAR campaign instead. "A lot of companies say they stand for empowering women… but e.l.f. actually 100% stood behind me," she added.
Transitioning to NASCAR has proven challenging. "Jumping into a 3,400-pound stock car hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park," she admitted. Legge faces a steep learning curve, adapting to new vehicles, different circuits, and the local dialects of the team’s engineers. She remains undaunted, stating, "I’m studying, I’m watching races, I’m looking at data. I want to finish where I think I’m capable of finishing."
Determined to secure respect in a male-dominated environment, Legge draws on her experience to navigate the competitive landscape. "Experience counts for so much," she opined, emphasizing the importance of having a healthy respect for the sport. Her partnership with e.l.f. not only aims for victory on track but also extends the inclusivity within motorsports.
Legge’s journey exemplifies the intersection of femininity and competitive prowess in racing. The pink car, once a source of hesitation, now represents a commitment to breaking barriers and inspiring a new generation of motorsport athletes. With her sights firmly set on podium finishes, Legge is poised to redefine perceptions in NASCAR.
