Katherine Legge Expands NASCAR Schedule for 2025 Season
Katherine Legge has announced a significant addition to her 2025 NASCAR schedule, confirming her participation in the prestigious Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Legge will pilot the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet in what will be her fifth Cup Series race of the season, backed by Desnuda Organic Tequila and the Indiana venture studio, Droplight.
Previously, Legge was slated to compete in the Richmond Raceway Cup race, but she has replaced it with an appearance at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 12, 2025, slated to be her final start of the year. This adjustment brings her projected participation to 13 races across both the Cup and Xfinity Series.
Legge brings a wealth of experience to the IMS oval, having completed four Indianapolis 500 races from 2012 to 2024, with a best finish of 22nd. Despite her established background in open-wheel racing, this will mark her first start at IMS in a stock car.
In her Cup Series debut at Phoenix in March, Legge encountered early challenges, finishing the race due to a crash. However, she made history by becoming the first woman to start a Cup race since Danica Patrick in 2018. Her performance improved at the Chicago Street Course, where she finished 19th, notably securing the last open qualifying spot over 23XI Racing’s Corey Heim.
In addition to her Cup ventures, Legge has participated in five Xfinity races this season, facing challenges with four race retirements due to crashes, and finishing 32nd in her one completed event.
With her upcoming appearance in the Xfinity Series at Indianapolis next weekend, Legge aims to enhance her performance dramatically on a track where she has previously excelled.
