NASCAR Championship Weekend Returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2026
NASCAR has officially announced that Homestead-Miami Speedway will host the championship weekend in 2026, marking its return to the season-ending slot from November 6-8. This will be the first time the facility has held this pivotal event since 2019.
The decision is part of NASCAR’s new rotating model for championship races, aimed at distributing the season finale across its premier venues. Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President of Racing Innovation, stated, “The rotating model will provide new challenges for competitors as well as opportunities for unique venues to host our loyal fans.” Phoenix Raceway, which has been the championship venue since 2020, is also included in this rotation following its $178 million renovation.
Homestead-Miami Speedway has been a significant location in NASCAR’s history, hosting championship races intermittently since 2002. Its reputation for competitive racing is expected to resonate with both veteran drivers and a newer fan base. Guillermo Santa Cruz, President of Homestead-Miami Speedway, remarked, “The 2026 NASCAR Championship Weekend will offer the brightest young stars… alongside veteran fan-favorite drivers.”
In addition to the championship weekend, Phoenix Raceway will retain two race weekends in 2026, with its fall event positioned within the postseason’s Round of 8. This strategic scheduling aligns with NASCAR’s ongoing efforts to bolster its presence in key markets and elevate the racing experience for all participants.
