NASCAR Prepares for Chicago Street Race with Strategic Sponsorship

NASCAR’s upcoming Chicago Street Race, the Grant Park 165, is set to see major promotional efforts led by race sponsor Arby’s. Cody Ware will drive the No. 51 Arby’s Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Rick Ware Racing, featuring a striking red-and-white design.

Arby’s has made a significant investment in this partnership, introducing new track signage, on-air sponsorship, and experiential displays at the event. Additionally, the brand is rolling out its new Angus Cheesesteak Sandwich, tied to a promotional giveaway at the race. "The NASCAR Chicago Street Race is a marquee moment for Arby’s," stated Jeff Baker, Arby’s Chief Marketing Officer. "We’re excited to introduce our new Angus Cheesesteaks in a way only Arby’s can."

The Chicago Street Race debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023, yet its future remains uncertain as the current contract expires at the end of this season. Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President, highlighted the event’s ongoing evolution, stating, "Each year we’ve wanted to build upon the momentum… A lot of learnings came from that." He noted interest in exploring further street racing opportunities, particularly in the Southern California market.

As anticipation builds for the race, with 41 entries expected, one driver is set to miss the qualification cut. This heightened competition underscores the stakes as NASCAR seeks to solidify the Chicago event in its future calendar.
