Trackhouse Racing Announces 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Line-Up

Trackhouse Racing has solidified its three-team structure for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series, featuring notable driver assignments. Shane van Gisbergen will transition to the No. 97 Chevrolet, a number with deep personal roots, previously associated with his father’s racing career and his own success in Australian Supercars, where he accumulated 80 wins and three championships.

“It’s awesome to carry a car number that is so special to me,” van Gisbergen stated. “When Justin [Marks, Trackhouse owner] offered me the opportunity to change to the No. 97, it was pretty special.”

In his rookie season with Trackhouse, van Gisbergen clinched five victories and concluded the season 12th in the standings. He will continue to work with crew chief Stephen Doran, who emphasized the importance of their evolving partnership.

“The 2025 season was pretty special, but I’m already looking ahead to 2026,” Doran said. “Shane is one of the best road course drivers NASCAR has ever seen, and it’s an honor to be part of it.”

Meanwhile, Connor Zilisch is set to make his rookie debut in the No. 88 Chevrolet, previously driven by van Gisbergen. Zilisch will be paired with crew chief Randall Burnett, who moves to Trackhouse after a successful tenure at Richard Childress Racing.

“Carrying on the legacy of the 88 number is really exciting,” Zilisch noted. “I certainly have big shoes to fill, but I’m looking forward to learning from Randall.”

Burnett acknowledged Zilisch’s talent, highlighting the opportunity to guide him in his first full Cup season.

“Connor is a talented young driver and has been successful in other racing series,” Burnett commented.

Ross Chastain will return in the No. 1 Chevrolet, now working with crew chief Brandon McSwain, who replaces Phil Surgen. Chastain expressed enthusiasm about the change, citing McSwain’s talent and his early career connection with him.

“I’m thrilled to have Brandon McSwain as my crew chief next year,” Chastain remarked. “I’m looking forward to getting started.”

With these strategic driver assignments and crew chief pairings, Trackhouse Racing aims to build on its competitive foundation heading into the 2026 NASCAR season.
