Trackhouse Racing Moves to Part Ways with Daniel Suarez
Trackhouse Racing announced significant changes following a disappointing performance by driver Daniel Suarez, who remains winless in the 2025 NASCAR Cup season. Since joining the team in its inaugural season, Suarez has contributed to the organization’s two victories and has played a vital role as the team’s first driver. However, recent developments have led to a reassessment of his future with the organization.
In the latest standings, Suarez ranks lowest among his fellow Trackhouse drivers, following Shane van Gisbergen’s victory in Chicago. The team has since expanded, fielding three full-time entries and a part-time car, while Suarez’s results have stagnated.
During a post-race press conference, team owner Justin Marks addressed the decision to end their partnership, acknowledging Suarez’s integral role in the team’s growth. “Daniel has been a huge part of this company for four and a half years," said Marks. "We mapped out our three-year and five-year plans, and it became clear that it was time to move on.”
Marks emphasized that the racing landscape requires evolution for success. “This isn’t a sport where you do the same thing forever," he stated, signaling a strategic pivot for Trackhouse Racing.
The organization is expected to promote rising star Connor Zilisch to a Cup Series ride in 2026, taking over the No. 99 Chevrolet previously driven by Suarez. With these changes on the horizon, Trackhouse Racing aims to enhance its competitive edge as it continues to evolve in the highly competitive NASCAR landscape.
No official announcements have been made regarding Suarez’s next steps, but discussions about his future opportunities are anticipated as the season progresses.
