Ty Gibbs Prepares for Cook Out 400 at Darlington Raceway
Darlington, SC – Ahead of the Cook Out 400 at Darlington Raceway, Ty Gibbs, the young driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, reflects on his recent California trip and the challenges he faces in the NASCAR Cup Series. Currently sitting 18th in season points, Gibbs acknowledges that the season has fallen short of expectations, despite winning the NASCAR In-Season Challenge.
“This year hasn’t been great; we’ve had good highs, but I’m always looking to improve,” Gibbs stated. “I know we’re capable of turning the season around.”
Gibbs, 22, is determined to secure his first Cup Series win, a milestone he believes is imminent. “I think it’s right around the corner,” he remarked confidently. “I’ve been very successful in the past. It’s another challenge that I’m ready for.”

Reflecting on criticism from fans and media, Gibbs remains unfazed, focusing on improving his performance. “It’s outside noise; I really don’t care,” he asserted. “The most important thing is to enjoy what I get to do.”
With an average finishing position of 17.654 and highlights including top-three finishes at Bristol, Michigan, and the Chicago street race, Gibbs is committed to delivering better results. “There’s only one way to do it, and that’s to make it happen,” he said. “The little things make big differences.”
